Relying on enterprises to help the excellent and the poor
Relying on the industrial advantages of Qingdao, the school has taken the road of running a school jointly with enterprises, which has solved many practical problems for the school, especially the establishment of enterprise scholarships and grants, which has lightened the burden for the school's poverty alleviation work.
According to Teacher Yang Zhonghua of the Political and Educational Affairs Office, there are 6,667 students registered in the poor students' library of our school, accounting for 30% of the total number of students, and the proportion of poor students is about 6% to 7%. In this case, although the school has taken various measures to help the poor, such as reducing tuition and miscellaneous fees, granting student loans, delaying payment of various fees, granting special hardship subsidies, and work-study programs. Due to the large number of poor students, it is not possible to take care of them comprehensively at present. Zhang, a teacher from Polymer College, told reporters that there are not enough people to help the poor. Although the number and amount of tuition and miscellaneous fees reduced by colleges and universities have greatly increased in recent years, it still cannot keep up with the growth of the number of poor students in colleges and universities. The absolute number of poor students who can't get relief every year is still increasing year by year. The establishment of enterprise scholarships and grants has alleviated this contradiction to some extent.
This year, in order to strengthen the cooperation between enterprises and schools, Shanghai Heshibi Chemical Co., Ltd. funded the establishment of the "Shanghai Heshibi Scholarship" in our school, with the first phase from 2005 to 2009. Scholarships are assessed once a year, and the reward amount is 2000 yuan per person per year. 14 students will receive scholarships this year. On the one hand, setting up scholarships can help students with poor families. On the other hand, reward students with excellent academic performance and stimulate their enthusiasm for studying hard.
In addition, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Albers Institute of Technology have established "Lifu Matsui" scholarships, with two awards amounting to hundreds of thousands. Polymer College has successively established cooperative relations with Shanghai Tongcheng Chemical Co., Ltd., Maanshan Sheng Rui Industry and Trade Technology Co., Ltd. and Jiangyin Lanling Bottle Stopper Co., Ltd., and jointly established Tongcheng Scholarship, Sheng Rui Scholarship and Lanling Scholarship. The enterprise has invested more than 200,000 yuan for the college, and nearly 200 students benefit from it every year.
Off-campus teaching practice space
Graduation practice is an important part of school teaching. However, due to the limitation of school space, many colleges organize students to practice in enterprises every year, and use the resources of enterprises to provide experimental platforms for students to improve their practical ability. On this basis, some colleges have maintained long-term cooperative relations with some enterprises and established stable teaching practice bases.
Since 2004, the Institute of Chemistry has successively established five practice bases in Qingdao Hengyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. and Qingdao Haijing Chemical Group Co., Ltd., and signed a cooperation agreement with Industry-University-Research, which has solved the problem of students' practice difficulty. The Institute of Chemistry also established social practice bases in Qingdao Ocean Science and Technology Museum and Haijing Chemical Group, and organized students to carry out social practice activities in Qingdao Ocean Science and Technology Museum and Qingdao Yiqing Capsule Co., Ltd. in summer, which achieved good results. Recently, Polymer College of our school organized a social practice team of "Technology and Development" to Shandong Sangong Rubber Co., Ltd. 10, and established a teaching practice base in Sangong. During the activity, volunteers visited the company's production workshop, and together with the company's employees, they improved their hands-on ability by going to the workshop in person. Polymer College has also established practice bases with more than a dozen enterprises such as Qingdao Keppel Sealing Industry Co., Ltd., Qilu Petrochemical Company, Jiangyin Lanling Bottle Stopper Co., Ltd. ... and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has also established teaching practice bases in Qingdao Soft Control and other enterprises.
Students who leave campus benefit a lot from their internships in enterprises. Zhang Ming from the School of Chemistry said, "Through my internship, my work goals and what I want to learn are clearer than before, and I know how to find problems." Through internship, some students are also full of confidence in finding a job after graduation. Li Bo, from Polymer College, said: "Through intense and substantial internship, I realized that what I decided in my future work must be done."
"Booking" the graduation market
Our vocational and technical college has been exploring new ways for graduates to find a job market. Every year, we should go to various places to discuss in advance to enhance mutual understanding with enterprises, and sign "appointment contracts" with some enterprises. Last year, 23 economically disadvantaged graduates majoring in mechatronics were "booked" by Qihe Board Factory of Shandong Chenming Group one year before graduation. Following the implementation of "order education" in vocational and technical colleges, polymer colleges and electromechanical colleges have extensively opened up channels for school-enterprise cooperation, and successively reached cooperation intentions with Shandong Luye Group and Shandong Changlin Group. This year, our school also signed a contract with Hankook Tire Co., Ltd. to set up "Han Tai Scholarship" and implement "Order Education", which helped five poor students solve the two major problems of schooling and employment.
At present, the cooperation between mechanical and electrical colleges and enterprises in student employment is increasing, and the employment problem of more students is solved as much as possible. In May 2004, Lifu Matsui, the founder of the company, came to our school to discuss cooperation with the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The two sides reached an understanding to establish the Alpine International Mechanical Engineer Training Center and the University Student Entrepreneurship Center in our school. After one year's training, students of Mechanical and Electrical College 16 became the first batch of graduates to work in Japan this year. When talking about the future school-enterprise cooperation, Liang Shuqing, deputy secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, said: "Our school will further accelerate school-enterprise cooperation, strengthen contacts with various enterprises through the policy of' going out, please come in', and establish cooperative relations with more enterprises, so that students can get exercise in school-enterprise cooperation and it is more convenient for graduates to find jobs."
In fact, school-enterprise cooperation is an "ice lotus". Both schools and enterprises are optimistic about the win-win effect of school-enterprise joint education. In the process of school-enterprise cooperation, the school uses the resources of the enterprise to solve the problems of students' study, employment and internship to a certain extent, and the enterprise uses the advanced technology of the school to develop new products and introduce needed talents. Now off-campus enterprises have begun to cooperate with many professional fields in our school. From one major to many majors, from one college to many colleges, the effect of "borrowing chickens to lay eggs" has been fully reflected in our school.
