Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics is located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is the only independent full-time general higher financial and economic college in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region with undergraduate education as the mainstay. The predecessor of the school can be traced back to Suiyuan Trade Cadre Training School, which was established in 1949. On the basis of Inner Mongolia Finance and Economics School, Inner Mongolia Finance and Economics College was established with the approval of the State Council. In 20 12, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics was renamed as Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics, and officially upgraded to the ranks of colleges and universities, becoming the highest institution of finance and economics education in the autonomous region. As of May 20 15, the school covers an area of 2,026.9 mu with a total construction area of 570,000 square meters. There are 18 colleges, 1 directly affiliated teaching departments and 5 teaching auxiliary institutions, offering 54 undergraduate majors, 27 of which offer Mongolian and Chinese bilingual classes, and 14 higher vocational majors. There are 929 full-time teachers in general higher education, with more than 2 1400 students.
