Can a university change its major?
Sure!

Changing majors is the abbreviation for students studying in another major. It is for students to better adapt to their own interests and plans for the future. It is also a way for schools to integrate resources, which is conducive to giving full play to students' abilities and cultivating talents. Therefore, universities can generally change their majors.

However, there are basically certain thresholds for changing majors, such as interviews and written tests. The written test will be divided into liberal arts and science exams (the specific situation still depends on each school, and you can consult the seniors of the school). There are other restrictions, such as science and engineering majors, which only restrict science students in the college entrance examination to change majors, and two majors in the same school cannot be transferred to one major in the school. Students who have applied to change majors cannot apply to change back to their original majors or other majors.

Transfer students will be approved once every academic year, and the application time will be in the last two weeks of the second semester of each academic year;

At the end of the second semester of each academic year, according to the conditions of running a professional school, the Academic Affairs Office will announce the acceptance places of professional transfers to the whole school;

In order to maintain the normal teaching order, in principle, after participating in the selection, the number of transfers in each major shall not exceed 3% to 5% of the enrollment in that year, and the number of transfers shall not exceed 3% to 5% of the enrollment in that year;

Students themselves apply to their college, fill in the application form for changing majors, and submit it to the academic affairs office after approval by the college;

After being examined and approved by the Academic Affairs Office and going through the relevant formalities, the applicant will take the selection examination of arts and sciences organized by the Academic Affairs Office before the first semester of each academic year. The contents of the examination are: science is math and English, liberal arts is English, some universities add politics, and some test computers. The test scores are sorted by liberal arts and science respectively, and according to the sorting results, the candidates choose to transfer to the major independently.
