Northwest University's art postgraduate majors are: environmental design, digital new media, visual communication, public art and fine arts.

The Art Department of Northwest University was founded in 1985, and it is one of the earliest comprehensive universities offering art education in Northwest China. The Department was established in 1994, and 1999 was approved as a master's degree in fine arts. 200 1 resources are integrated and belong to the College of Literature of Northwest University.

In March, 2006, the discipline expanded and the Art College was established, which entered a new stage of development. Art College is a college with many professional categories, relatively large scale and relatively high standards. After more than 30 years' efforts, it has formed an innovative talent education concept that adapts to China's art education, especially in the West.
