Our school has been engaged in navigation technology education for more than 50 years, which can be traced back to the beginning of 1952, and established fishing specialty (now renamed as marine fishery science and technology undergraduate specialty). In the curriculum of this major, navigation technology has always been one of the backbone disciplines of this major, and navigation courses account for about 50% of the basic and specialized courses in the curriculum system. With the rapid development of marine transportation, our school recruits junior college students majoring in marine ship driving from 1994 to 1999. 200 1, our school applied for the major of navigation technology (fishery navigation technology), which was approved by the provincial education department. In 2002, undergraduate students majoring in navigation technology were formally enrolled.
On June 5438+February, 2003, the quality system of seafarers' education and training in our school successfully passed the first audit of the quality system audit team of the Ministry of Communications. In July, 2004, our school successfully passed the acceptance of "Radar Observation and Plotting and Radar Simulator" and "ARPA" of China Maritime Safety Administration, and obtained the training qualification. At present, there are 339 students majoring in navigation technology.
Second, the professional training objectives
The undergraduate major of navigation technology mainly cultivates the all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, adapts to the needs of national economic construction, grasps the basic theoretical knowledge and skills of navigation, conforms to the requirements of the revised International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (1978) and China's seafarers' competency standards, and can adapt to the development of modern shipping industry.
Third, professional characteristics and service orientation
This major attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' practical ability. Students have passed the examinations and assessments prescribed by the competent authorities of the state, have the prescribed sailing qualifications, and can obtain relevant certificates of competency for marine ship pilots.
Graduates of this major are mainly oriented to international and domestic shipping enterprises and shipping administrative departments, and train marine ship drivers and shipping administrative personnel to serve the shipping industry.
Fourth, the academic system and degree.

Only male students are enrolled in this major, and students must meet the requirements of physical examination for seafarers in the Guiding Opinions on Physical Examination for Enrollment of Colleges and Universities and the industry standard of People's Republic of China (PRC) Ministry of Communications. First, the historical evolution of occupation
Since 1972, junior college students have been formally enrolled in the major of ship and ocean engineering. 1978 the school was upgraded from junior college to undergraduate, and the major was also upgraded from junior college to undergraduate. Over the past 30 years, a large number of scientific and technological talents have been trained for China's economic construction, including more than 700 undergraduates, more than 500 junior college students, 6 graduate students, and 2 doctoral students jointly trained with Shanghai Jiaotong University. More than 120 surveyors were trained for the professional certificate class of fishing vessel inspection. In addition, it also shoulders the task of training professionals for shipbuilding enterprises.
Second, the professional training objectives
Cultivate all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and beauty, and have basic theories and skills in the design, research, construction and inspection of modern ships (including fishing boats) and ocean engineering, as well as basic knowledge of shipbuilding enterprise management; Able to use computer for drawing, programming and application; And applied technical talents in the field of ship and ocean engineering with practical ability.
Third, professional characteristics and service orientation
Multi-style professional skills training and targeted graduation design topic training pay attention to the cultivation of students' innovative ability, which is conducive to students' personalized development. The trained students have high comprehensive quality, strong professional skills, can bear hardships and stand hard work, love their jobs, and are well received by employers.
After graduation, students can engage in ship design, manufacturing, research, inspection and ship enterprise management. Facing shipbuilding enterprises, design institutes, ship inspection and ship-related industries, it serves the development of local marine economy.
