First, school profile:

Gansu Agricultural University, located in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Gansu Provincial People's Government, a high-level university in Gansu Province, and one of the 100 central and western universities under state key construction. It was selected into the basic capacity building project of central and western universities, the education and training plan of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents, the national postgraduate project of building high-level universities, and the national key discipline project.

The school was formerly the National Veterinary College founded in Lanzhou in June 1946+00. In June/950, it was renamed Northwest Veterinary College. In June/95/kloc-0, it was renamed Northwest Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College. In June/958, it merged with Gansu Agricultural College under construction to form Gansu Agriculture.

As of April 2023, the school covers an area of 6.5438+0.58 million square meters, with a construction area of 700,000 square meters. There are 23 colleges, 69 undergraduate majors, 4 post-doctoral research stations, 8 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 1 interdisciplinary doctoral degree authorization points, 1 professional doctoral degree authorization categories, and 19.

As of April 2023, the school attached importance to international exchanges and cooperation and implemented an international development strategy. With the United States, Britain, New Zealand, Peru, Ghana, South Korea and other more than 60 universities and research institutions in more than 20 countries, we have maintained joint student training, academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation.

The school cooperated with the United States and other countries to set up the China-US Research Center for Sustainable Development of Grassland Animal Husbandry, cooperated with international institutions such as International Potato Center, International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center and International Seabuckthorn Research Center, and successively joined the China Federation of Universities in Central and Eastern European Countries and the Silk Road Agricultural Education Science and Technology Innovation Alliance of China Agricultural Colleges.
