There is no requirement for English grades.
2. The selection method of monks in the research department of the Faculty of Science of Tokyo University is material review, and there is no written test.
According to the application, there may be an interview exam (the school will inform you separately), and you need to submit GRE or TOEFL scores. Different majors have different requirements for GRE and TOEFL.
The first two are Japanese monks. If you apply for the English-teaching monk program at the University of Tokyo, English achievement is a must. TOEFL or IELTS, generally speaking, TOEFL is more recognized.
