Liaoning Petrochemical Vocational and Technical College is located in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province. It is a provincial-level public independent vocational college, a national backbone vocational college, a high-level modern vocational college in Liaoning Province, an advanced unit of national vocational education, a pilot unit of modern apprenticeship in the Ministry of Education, and the chairman unit of Liaoning Petrochemical Vocational Education Group.
In 2002, the Liaoning Provincial Government decided that the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education and China Petroleum Jinzhou Petrochemical Company would jointly run the school, and the Liaoning Petrochemical School, a national key technical secondary school founded by 1952, merged with Jinzhou Petrochemical Company Staff University to form Liaoning Petrochemical Vocational and Technical College. In 20 17, Liaoning provincial government decided to merge Liaoning Agricultural Economic School, a national key secondary vocational school founded by 1956, into Liaoning Petrochemical Vocational and Technical College.
