Heze University is an undergraduate college. Its predecessor was the Second Normal School of Hebei, Shandong and Henan, which was founded in 1949. Historically, it has been renamed as Heze Normal School in Plain Province, Heze No.1 Normal School in Shandong Province and Heze Normal College.

In 2002, Heze Teachers College, Heze Education College and Heze Radio and TV University merged and were upgraded to undergraduate colleges.
