Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College was formally established in July 2000 on the basis of the former Hunan Bank School and Hunan Education TV Station. In 2002, the former Changsha County Teacher Training School merged; In 2004, the original Hunan Radio and Television School was integrated.
There are six secondary colleges, including School of Journalism and Communication, School of Film and Television Art, school of visual arts, School of New Media Technology, School of Management and School of International Communication, and two teaching departments, namely, the Department of Ideological and Political Education and the Department of physical education class Education, which implement two-level management. Now there are 35 majors.
