Peking University Institute of Mathematical Sciences
The School of Mathematical Sciences has a team of teachers with extensive research fields, profound knowledge and rigorous scholarship. There are more than 40 teachers1person, including 6 academicians of China Academy of Sciences, 3 academicians of Third World Academy of Sciences, 3 national famous teachers, distinguished professor and Professor Changjiang 1 1 person, 5 winners of National Outstanding Youth Fund1person, 70 professors, 44 associate professors and 38 doctoral supervisors. A group of famous professors, represented by academicians (Analytics), Jiang Boju (Topology), Ding,, and Tian Gang, are outstanding scholars and academic leaders in the field of mathematics in China. The college also has a group of middle-aged teachers with profound knowledge, profound academic attainments and different majors, who are the connecting link between scientific research and teaching. What is even more gratifying is that since the mid-1980s, a large number of young doctors and masters who graduated from home and abroad have been enriched into the teaching staff, greatly improving the age structure of college teachers. These young people are active in academic thinking, well-informed, energetic and motivated. With the care, support and help of old teachers, they have played an important role in scientific research and teaching posts, and some have grown into excellent academic leaders. University teachers actively write books and make speeches. From 1980 to 1997, about 220 kinds of textbooks, monographs and translations have been published. A group of senior professors with profound academic attainments and rich teaching experience personally compiled the textbook 1 1, which won the national excellent textbook awards of universities and the State Education Commission, and two of them won the national excellent textbook awards. Teachers of the School of Mathematical Sciences have made many scientific research achievements, published a large number of academic papers, and obtained dozens of important achievements, which are highly praised by relevant leaders and academic circles. Since 1987, it has won the first prize 1 item of the National Natural Science Award, 3 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 4 fourth prizes 1 item. Grand prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award 1 (cooperation with other units), first prize 1 (cooperation with other units), second prize 1, and two third prizes (cooperation with other units); The State Education Commission has won 9 first prizes, 20 second prizes and 4 third prizes. 5. Other provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress awards. In addition, two professors won the Mathematics Award of the Third World Academy of Sciences, three professors won the Science and Technology Progress Award of Heli Foundation, two professors won the China Mathematics Award and three professors won the Mathematics Award. Teachers in colleges and universities have a wide range of research directions, and their main research fields include: differential dynamic system, nonlinear analysis, harmonic analysis, complex analysis, topology, group theory, algebraic number theory and algebraic geometry, graph theory, combinatorial mathematics, differential equations, differential geometry, mathematical physics, information science, computational mathematics, probability theory and statistics.
