Idea of running a school

Influenced by the prestigious honor system of William and Mary College, Princeton University has also inherited this great system. All undergraduates of Princeton University have to sign an academic integrity guarantee called "Honor Regulations". Students are required to write an oath of "I guarantee with my personality that I have not violated the honor rule in this exam" every time.

This provision carries a second obligation: during the entrance examination, every student promises that when he sees other students cheating, he will report it to the honor Committee to protect the students. Because of this rule, Princeton University exams are unsupervised. Homework is not under the jurisdiction of honor regulations, but students often need to write down a guarantee that they will not cheat in their homework. This assignment fully represents my own efforts and does not violate any regulations of the school.

This school attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' character. The "good faith" system has been implemented since 1893. Here, all the written tests that students take are conducted under the integrity system, that is, students are conscious without the teacher's invigilation. This system ensures that students are responsible for honesty and the results of each exam by observing the oath of honesty prepared in advance. The school management fully listens to students' opinions. There are four student representatives on the school board, and the school and students trust each other.
