What is your dream after you have wealth?

Yu: Good evening, class! I am very happy to come to Renmin University. Renmin University has five New Oriental executives, and I am no stranger to Renmin University. What is the topic of communication with you tonight? Pursuing dreams and realizing dreams: the story of Yu Chuangfu? . Everyone has a dream. I don't have big dreams. My dream is in stages. The new oriental I am building now has surpassed my dream. Unexpectedly, New Oriental will become a Chinese concept stock listed in the United States, and it is one of the outstanding Chinese concept stocks.

Everyone knows that people have two states: economic freedom and emotional freedom. The former is to have a steady stream of wealth and wealth control, while the latter is to have free emotional choices. The most important thing for a person is economic freedom, and everyone has different economic requirements. I have a college classmate who is now a doctoral supervisor at Peking University. He has his own standards: with a house that is not too big, children don't have to worry about tuition. The rest of the time is spent studying and living a leisurely life looking up at the bright moon and overlooking the flowing water. Until now, I still maintain a poor man's view of wealth. Some friends encouraged me to buy a yacht. I said that I can't play a few times a year, and yachting has no practical significance to me.

Outlook on life determines values, and values determine wealth. Money should be used in more meaningful places, and the most important thing is to rearrange your wealth as much as possible to help those in need. I spend more than 8 million every year to help more than 2,000 poor students. I want to run a university that really serves the poor. I bought 500 mu of land in Beijing for this dream. In this university, more than half of the students I hope to enroll are from the countryside. Because according to our survey, there are fewer and fewer opportunities for rural children to enter colleges and universities. The reason is simple: urban resources are very rich, and educational resources are tilted towards cities. Some children have the opportunity to enter a good university, but they can't afford the tuition. The lack of educational resources makes more children have no chance to enter universities at all. This is why I want to provide tuition for rural children. This is the original intention of this university. Helping hundreds of children every year is something I am very willing to do. When I am old, I will not be New Oriental, and that university will be my spiritual home. I will work hard for this dream. If it really doesn't come true, I think I will definitely donate money to the country, and then I will go back to campus and teach any subject I can.

In order to run this university well, I have been studying hard on capital operation and capital investment, and how Harvard University can turn billions of funds into tens of billions. Public universities such as Peking University and the National People's Congress will be continuously funded by the state finance, while the private university I want to run can only operate on its own funds and capital. In my opinion, running a university well needs more than 654.38 billion yuan.

People with substance and no spirit are more desperate than those with spirit and no substance. China's education pays attention to the education of professional knowledge, but ignores the education of how to be a man and do things for a lifetime. What is my dream after I have wealth? To truly build this privately-run university with the most advanced teaching, I will invite the best professors to attend classes at the highest cost. Besides, I have a dream, a lyric? All my dreams are in my bag? I hope to travel around the world with a bag full of dreams when I am in good health.

Nothing in this world is a terrible loss. The only terrible thing is to lose your ideals and courage. Nowadays, the development of New Oriental is becoming more and more steady, and I have set a new goal for the rest of my life: to create a truly non-profit private university so that poor students can afford it. This university has nothing to do with New Oriental. It's a personal ideal. It is my lifelong dream to devote myself to education. New Oriental is engaged in education, so I have reason to do it. With my personal wealth, it is impossible to run a real private university, but I have made up my mind to set up a foundation. I want to run a humanities university.

If you want to run a good enterprise, you must convey a kind of trust to people.

When Mengniu encountered a crisis of confidence, Mengniu shares fell. Niu Gensheng called me hoping to allocate some money from New Oriental to help Mengniu redeem its shares, and then return the money to New Oriental when Mengniu's economic situation improves. The day after I received the call for help, I called Niu Gensheng for $7 million without any promise or contract, and the other party didn't promise much interest to New Oriental.

Why are you doing this? There is a simple reason. In my opinion, Niu Gensheng is a good man. First, filial piety. He was brought up by adoptive parents, and he respected and filial to them very much. Second, loyalty. Third, compassion. He used Mengniu's stock to set up the Old Cow Foundation to help employees tide over the difficulties in case of accidents. Fourth, love nature. I have been to Mengniu. Niu Gensheng planted trees around the factory, which used to be a desert.

If you want to run the enterprise well and do things well, you must convey a kind of trust. This state of trust is that you don't have to worry about giving you anything, and there is no suspicion or hesitation between you. I believe it is right to help someone in his most difficult time.
