Henan Polytechnic University is a characteristic backbone university in Henan Province, which is jointly established by the central and local governments and mainly managed by local governments. It is a university jointly established by the Henan Provincial People's Government and the former state administration of work safety.

As of April 2022, the school has three campuses: South Campus (No.2001Century Road, Jiaozuo City), North Campus (No.0/42 Jiefang Middle Road, Jiaozuo City) and West Campus (No.55 Jianshe West Road, Jiaozuo City), with an area of 4 100 mu and a building area of/KLOC-0.

Discipline construction of Henan Polytechnic University

By April, 2022, the school has built four key disciplines with provincial characteristics and 22 key disciplines at the provincial level, and two disciplines have been selected into the "double first-class" creation project of colleges and universities in Henan Province. Six postdoctoral research mobile stations, six first-class doctoral programs, 27 first-class master's degree authorization points and 2 1 master's degree authorization categories have been built, and they have the right of exemption for master's degrees and the qualification to carry out undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
