Are girls suitable for carpentry?
I used to work in the visual design of Internet companies, but later I fell in love with carpentry. At the end of 20 1 1, I started to teach myself carpentry in Hangzhou, and built a woodworking workshop with my friends until I left my original company in July last year to train carpentry enthusiasts. Now I have opened the "M.Y. Lab Woodworking Laboratory" in Hangzhou, with nearly 300 students. Yesterday, I briefly counted the ratio of boys to girls.

Regarding whether girls are suitable for carpentry, in fact, as long as they choose the right method and direction of carpentry, girls can do well. The following are my opinions and suggestions for girls who want to be female carpenters, hoping to help you.

1, starting with simple handmade woodwork, wooden spoons, plates, boxes, small benches, etc. ;

Don't be afraid of machines, learn to use them (the biggest advantage of boys over girls is strength, and machines just solve this problem. Many men and women can operate the machine, just don't operate too heavy objects, which has nothing to do with the machine, only what you want to do.

3. Don't use machines to operate small pieces of wood. This is for everyone, regardless of gender. Don't think it's simple to make small things. Sometimes the smaller they are, the more dangerous they are. Unless all of them are numerically controlled, they will lose the fun of manual work.

4. It's important to join the local circle of wooden friends and find an organization, but there are too many directions for carpentry, including Wan Wen, modern carpentry, traditional handicrafts, wood carving and decoration. . . Wait, anyway, we will find something about histology soon. A lot of things have been explored for a year or so, and maybe others can get it done in one sentence.

5. Learn to search. There are all kinds of knowledge on the Internet. It would be better if I could climb over the wall. There is too much knowledge in the woodworking industry outside. Instagram and youtube are enough for me to watch at present.
