2 1 1 University project was initiated by China municipal government on 1995, aiming at improving the overall strength of higher education in China. The goal of "2 1 1" project is to select 100 universities with important influence and good foundation, and invest more resources in improving the quality of education and building the strength of disciplines and scientific research.
Although 985 and 2 1 1 universities have high reputation and advantages, and are relatively more prominent in terms of education quality, teachers, scientific research strength and campus resources, 985 universities are indeed better than 2 1 1 universities.
But not all 985 and 2 1 1 universities surpass other universities in all aspects. Therefore, when choosing a school, you should comprehensively consider the school's professional characteristics, research direction, discipline strength, teaching resources, teaching staff, personal interests and development goals.
