2. school profile Xinjiang Agricultural University is a key agricultural institution of higher learning in the autonomous region. Formerly known as Bayi Agricultural Reclamation College, it was founded by General Wang Zhen on the basis of the Second Infantry School of China People's Liberation Army in 1952 with the consent of Chairman Mao and the Central Military Commission.

/kloc-at the end of 0/958, it was placed under the leadership of the People's Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and renamed as Xinjiang Bayi Agricultural Reclamation College. 1April 2, 9951Approved by the former State Education Commission, it was renamed Xinjiang Agricultural University. The school has successively won the honors of "National May 1st Labor Award", "National Advanced Unit of Factory Affairs Publicity" and "Xinjiang Development and Construction Certificate".

In 2006, the undergraduate teaching level was evaluated as excellent. 20 14 Xinjiang agricultural university was jointly established by the state forestry administration and the people's government of the autonomous region.

After 64 years of hard work, the school has now developed into a multidisciplinary agricultural university with agricultural education as its advantage, minority education as its feature, natural science as its main subject area, applied discipline as its main development direction, and undergraduate education as its main school-running level, covering seven disciplines including agriculture, science, engineering, economics, management, literature and law.

At present, the school has 6 post-doctoral research mobile workstations, 6 first-level discipline authorization points for doctoral degrees, 18 first-level discipline authorization points for master's degrees, 7 professional master's degree authorization points and 62 undergraduate majors. There are 18 colleges, 2 teaching departments and more than 26,000 registered students.
