Fujian Normal University, located in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, is a provincial-level key comprehensive university jointly established by Fujian Provincial People's Government, China People's Government and Ministry of Education, and a "double-class" university in Fujian Province. It has been selected into the National "20 1 1 Plan", the National "Key Discipline Project" and the National Construction University.

The "Excellent Teacher Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, the demonstration base for studying in China by the Ministry of Education, one of the three high-level universities to be built in Fujian Province, the teaching and training base for teaching Chinese as a foreign language for Southeast Asia, the national pilot school for independently recruiting students from Taiwan Province Province, the key schools for teaching Chinese in neighboring countries, and the scholarship institutions for overseas students from China Government;

China-ASEAN Education and Training Center, National Key Institute of Marxism, Basic Education Curriculum Research Center of the Ministry of Education, and "National Training Plan" demonstration centralized training project school.

Fujian Normal University is one of the earliest normal universities in China. Its predecessor was an excellent normal school in Fujian Province founded by the Qing emperor Chen Yu 1907. After several adjustments and mergers, South China Women's College of Arts and Sciences, Fujian Christian University, Fujian Normal University and other units established Fujian Normal University on 1953;

1972 was renamed as Fujian Normal University. Ye Shengtao, Dong Zuobin, Zheng, Huang Weiyuan, Tang, Tang Chongti, Yao Jiannian and many other well-known experts and scholars have taught in this school.
