Leshan University of Technology belongs to three universities. It is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education. Founded by Southwest Institute of Physics of China Nuclear Industry and Chengdu University of Technology, it is the largest controlled nuclear fusion experimental base in Asia. It is the only university affiliated to China's nuclear industry.
