2. Interpretation test
1) Interpretation test is a competency test. Formal examination, litigation interview. Starting from the objectivity and fairness of the examination, each candidate must be evaluated by at least two examination proceedings at the same time. The content of the interpretation is recorded on the tape in advance, which will be played to the candidates at that time, and the candidates will do impromptu interpretation.
2) Inspection procedures
Interpretation test is divided into two parts, Chinese-English translation and English-Chinese translation.
Chinese-English translation part
Chinese-English translation is divided into two stages.
The first stage of single sentence interpretation, total score 15. Candidates will hear four sentences, each with about 30 words in Chinese. It covers daily life, foreign affairs arrangement, China's national conditions and China's culture. After each sentence is recorded and played, candidates should translate it within 30 seconds.

The first time is played continuously from beginning to end, and when the second time is recorded and played, the candidates have 30 seconds to interpret each sentence after the play. Candidates at this stage can take notes.
English-Chinese translation part
English-Chinese translation is divided into two stages.
The first stage of single sentence interpretation, total score 15. Candidates will hear 4 sentences, each with about 30 English words. It covers daily life, foreigners' life in China and international affairs. After each sentence is recorded and played, candidates should translate it within 30 seconds.
The second stage is paragraph interpretation, 10. Candidates will hear a voice recording of about 1 minute. Recording * * * played twice. The first time is played continuously from beginning to end, and when the second time is recorded and played, the candidates have 30 seconds to interpret each sentence after the play. Candidates at this stage can take notes.
3) General requirements for interpretation
Translation of all or most materials, accurate and appropriate translation methods, accurate keyword translation, authentic pronunciation, fluent language, basically completed at one time, allowing a little natural pause.
Third, learning methods.
Due to the limitation of objective conditions and the fact that most self-taught students can't devote too much time to foreign language practice as they rebuilt in school, it is difficult for them to learn "advanced listening and interpretation" well. Advanced listening and interpretation require learners to have great language input and language practice, and it is obviously not enough to rely solely on textbooks. Textbooks only provide students with a learning framework, and the real improvement of their level depends on self-study in peacetime.
In order to improve listening, we must first ensure a large number of language materials input. Undergraduate advanced listening puts forward higher requirements for candidates, no matter at the practical level-listening to real materials. Candidates can't just stare at the textbook and listen to the tapes attached to the textbook repeatedly, which will not make great progress. Although there is no environment in which most candidates usually use English, it does not mean that there is no way out. It should be said that although the use of English in China is still quite limited in general, today's reform and opening up and information society have made English ubiquitous. Radio programs of major media in the world, such as BBC, VOA, CNN, NPR, CCTV-9, etc. , which can be obtained through TV or Internet. Major newspapers in English-speaking countries, such as Washington post and The New York Times, provide news broadcast or video service on the Internet. At present, there are a large number of original English magazines and various original English movies DVD in China. These are excellent raw materials for practicing listening. When practicing listening, we should pay attention to methods and results. To practice listening, we should keep the interest and excitement of asking for information from materials, ensure the timing and quantification, grasp the difficulty, and decide intensive listening and extensive listening according to different material properties. When listening, it is best to have a transcript of the original recording, so that you can learn by comparison and find out what you don't understand and why you don't understand, so that you can accumulate. Only in this way can we gradually improve our listening comprehension.
In the study of interpretation, candidates need to pay more labor. Interpretation is a complex and comprehensive language skill, which is unfamiliar and challenging for most English learners. Several aspects that should be paid attention to in practicing interpretation. The first is the cultivation of English ability. Interpretation can be said to be a comprehensive skill that includes almost all language skills. Usually, there are few opportunities for interpretation, so learners can do more translation exercises and lay a good foundation in foreign languages. Always pay attention to the differences in expressions between English and Chinese, even in the mindset of the two cultures, and gradually get rid of Chinglish and move towards authentic English. Second, interpretation has distinct characteristics of the times. With the development of society, new words are constantly emerging, which requires learners to pay attention to observation and accumulation in peacetime. It is a good method to compare the Chinese and English reports of the same event. Thirdly, we should pay attention to the characteristics of interpretation itself, that is, the interpreter must finish the interpretation in time and independently. This means mastering the combination of accuracy and flexibility. The substantive content must be translated accurately. However, some poems, idioms, slang, proverbs, personal idioms and so on. It should be handled flexibly and translated into acceptable content that can be easily understood by other cultures.

Charles Chaplin
A penniless young man left England for America. His future is uncertain, but he doesn't believe it will be worse than his past. He grew up among the poor in the East End of London and experienced great poverty. His mother's life was so hard that she finally went crazy. His father died of alcoholism. Both parents have lived on the stage, hoping that one day they will become "stars". Their son dreams of success where they failed.
By 19 14, his dream had come true. His name, Charlie, is widely talked about in America. He is known as the king of silent films. How did he reach the top of the film industry in such a short time and achieve great success? This will not happen overnight. His early efforts to imitate other famous stars at that time failed. However, he gradually began to show the characteristics of a tramp, which is always associated with his name. He often borrowed ideas from others and even "stole" most of his clothes from others, but he developed his own way. He uses a black hat to send secret messages, and a walking stick can make him play jokes on his enemies or punish them from a distance. He got the famous inspiration for walking from a London driver with a broken foot.
