Zhejiang Ocean University is a teaching and research university founded by the State Oceanic Administration and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. Zhejiang Ocean University originated from Zhoushan Fisheries College and was established in 1958. 1975 was renamed as Zhejiang Fisheries College, and 1982 became one of the first universities in China to award bachelor's degrees.
