It is reported that on June 26th, Li Ka-shing, honorary chairman of the board of directors of Shantou University, came to Shantou University to attend the board of directors. Students from Shantou University warmly welcomed Brother Cheng home, and students held banners to welcome Teacher Li. It is reported that Shantou University is the only public university in the world that is continuously funded by the Li Ka-shing Foundation, a private foundation. It was established on 198 1 with the approval of the State Council, China. Li Ka-shing, a well-known patriot and internationally renowned entrepreneur, has made great efforts to help our school. It is estimated that the Li Ka-shing Foundation's funding for Shantou University will exceed HK$ 8 billion by 20 18.

According to the data, Shantou University has 27 doctoral graduates, 668 master graduates and 15 1 1 person. Li Ka-shing is affectionately called "Brother Cheng", which shows that Shantou University students respect Li Ka-shing.
