Chongqing Jiaotong University (CQJTU) is a university with traffic characteristics founded by Chongqing Municipal People's Government, China Municipal People's Government and Ministry of Transport.

Multidisciplinary universities focusing on engineering were selected into "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities", "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan", National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Plan, National College Students' Cultural Quality Education Base, China Government Scholarship Receiving Institution for Foreign Students in China, National Universities with Typical Experience in Graduate Employment and National Universities with Typical Experience in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He is a founding member of the "One Belt, One Road" Sino-Russian University Alliance.
