Chongqing University Bell Tower Square is located in the center of Chongqing University Area A, coming out of the gate of Area A, and along the avenue is Bell Tower Square. The square consists of a bell tower, a patchwork pool around it and a conceptual wall behind it. As the center of the main road on campus, the square is always full of traffic on weekdays.
The Bell Tower is a gift donated by the alumni to the alma mater during the 60th anniversary celebration of Chongqing University (1989). Its designer is the famous sculptor Professor Long Dehui. As a landmark building of the campus, there are a bell tower inlaid with gray tiles and three big clocks that can be seen from any direction. Surrounded by well-defined fountain lights. The conceptual wall behind the bell tower is also part of the bell tower square.
The Bell Tower Square is adjacent to the Unity Square of Chongqing University, and the loess tennis court of Chongqing University and the historic air-raid shelter are on the right. It complements the main teaching building of Chongqing University and the college buildings of resources, machinery, literature, art, economy and management lined up along the river, which makes the reading sound of the fifth and eighth teaching buildings of Chongqing University sing around it, which is also the original intention of alumni to donate this bell tower.
Siqun Square:
During the Cultural Revolution, the south stand of the square (near Room A 1, namely the southwest corner of Siqun Square) was a forest, during which many trenches were dug. The north stand was originally a slope ridge, which can be used for the militia of major armed forces to practice. The west stand was originally a group of "caves", which once became the base of major motorcycle teams. Later, sports groups used it to store equipment. In history, all major motorcycle teams are breezy. Every school sports meeting, motorcycle teams will perform stunts such as "drilling fire circles in the air" and "flying off the bridge".
In the southeast corner of Siqun Square, there used to be a metal skydiving platform with a height of 40 meters. It is said that there were only two in Chongqing in the early days of liberation (the other was in Datianwan Sports Ground). The main limb section of the skydiving tower is triangular and hollow; One of the main limbs is welded with a set of transverse pedals as a step to climb the top.
