School culture:
In 2008, the emblem of China Youshi University (East China) was confirmed. The school emblem takes the abstract body of the school's iconic sculpture "Creating the Sun" as the core element, with the English standard word school name above the outer ring arc, and the school year "1953" and Chinese standard word school name below.
The core element is "creating the sun": the sculpture ball symbolizes the sun, the short pipelines around it are like the light emitted by the sun, and the long pipelines are oil and gas gathering and transportation pipelines. The figure symbolizes the gardener who develops energy and engages in higher education. She held a thick book high, symbolizing that there is a diligent road in Shushan, guiding thousands of stone college students in Qian Qian to forge ahead in the hall of science.
Looking at this person from the front, there is a ribbon on her clothes, which has two meanings: one symbolizes the waves on the sea surface and the other symbolizes the layers of strata, which means that our oil production is carried out from both the sea and the land. The base of this sculpture is very realistic, like an offshore drilling platform. The whole sculpture also means using knowledge energy to develop material energy and create a new sun.
The design concept of sculpture mainly comes from the initiative of the old president, Mr. Yang Guanghua. Its core content is to show the school-running characteristics and values of Youshi University in China, that is, the profound connotation of taking oil exploitation and utilization as the main research object, taking cultivating petroleum and petrochemical talents as its own responsibility and taking scientific and technological knowledge as its mission to contribute energy to the country. The designer of the sculpture is Mr. Tang Daxi, a famous sculptor and former president of Guangzhou Sculpture Academy.
