School profile, Wuhan University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power
Wuhan University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power (WUHEE), founded in1954 65438+February, is a national key university with water conservancy, hydropower and electric power engineering as the main body and a combination of arts and sciences. It is also the university with the most comprehensive specialty, the largest scale and the strongest comprehensive strength in the water conservancy and electric power industry in China. The school participated in the tests and technical demonstrations of almost all large and medium-sized water conservancy, hydropower and a large number of power projects in China, and made important contributions to the scientific research and construction of the Gezhouba Project, the Three Gorges Project and the South-to-North Water Transfer Project. In 2000, Wuhan University of Water Resources and Electric Power merged with Wuhan University, Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping and Hubei Medical University to form the new Wuhan University. The main part of Wuhan University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power is now the Engineering Department of Wuhan University. Yichang Campus (formerly Gezhouba Hydropower Engineering College) merged with Hubei Three Gorges College to form Three Gorges University.
