Southwest University of Political Science and Law is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Chongqing Municipal People's Government. Although it is a national key university, it has not been included in the 2 1 1 project or the 985 project. 2 1 1 Project is a higher education development plan initiated by the government of China in 1995, aiming at improving the education quality and scientific research level of some universities. Project 985 is another higher education development plan initiated by 1998, aiming at cultivating world-class universities and disciplines. Although Southwest University of Political Science and Law has made some achievements in education quality and discipline construction, it has not been included in the list of these two projects.
