Jiaotong University, the name of China's comprehensive research university system, originated from Nanyang Public School and Shanhaiguan Beiyang Railway Official School founded by 1896. From 65438 to 0896, Sheng Xuanhuai, a famous industrialist and educator in modern China, founded Nanyang Public School in Shanghai, and Wang Wenshao, governor of Zhili and minister of Beiyang in Qing Dynasty, founded Shanhaiguan Beiyang Railway Official School.
