Wuhan University: Wuhan University, referred to as "Wu Da" for short, is a national key comprehensive research university located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Its origin dates back to the late Qing Dynasty (1893), and Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Huguang, founded the School of Self-improvement at the invitation of the Qing government. It is the earliest national university established in modern China with a history of 100 years.
Huazhong University of Science and Technology: Huazhong University of Science and Technology, referred to as "Huazhong University", was formed on May 26th, 2000 by the merger of the former Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tongji Medical University and Wuhan Institute of Urban Construction.
