2. Peking University Art Institute was established on April 15, 2006, which marked a new chapter in Peking University with a long tradition of art education and art research. The predecessor of Peking University Art Institute is the Art Department, which was founded in April 1997. It can be traced back to the music studio founded by Mr. Cai Yuanpei, with distinctive humanistic color and strong academic nature. At present, Peking University Art Institute has four teaching institutions, namely, the Department of Art Theory, the Department of Film and Television, the Department of Fine Arts and the Department of Music. There are also student art troupes such as Dance Troupe, Folk Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra, as well as school-level scientific research institutions such as Korean Painting Research Institute, Calligraphy Art Research Institute and Film and Television Drama Research Center. Peking University Art College has three first-class disciplines: postdoctoral mobile station, doctoral program in art theory, master program in art theory, drama, film and television, and fine arts.

3. Beijing Film Academy is the only institution of higher learning specializing in film in China, the largest in Asia and world-famous. It is also an art institution supported by Beijing, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and the Ministry of Education.
