I. Introduction of Hefei University

Hefei University, located in Hefei City, Anhui Province, is an ordinary institution of higher learning founded by the state and local governments, jointly established by provinces and cities, and led by the city. It is a "Sino-German Education Cooperation Demonstration Base", a master's degree awarding unit, a university with the right of independent evaluation of associate senior titles, and the first batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" universities of the Ministry of Education.

Formerly known as Hefei United University, the school was founded by Zheng Rui, then secretary of Hefei Municipal Committee, and Mr. Yang Chengzong, vice president of China University of Science and Technology. In March 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the former Hefei Union University, Hefei Education College and Hefei Normal College merged to form Hefei College. In June 2023, the Ministry of Education plans to approve the renaming of Hefei College as Hefei College.
