From 65438 to 0924, Dr. Sun Yat-sen personally integrated many universities in Guangzhou and founded the National Guangdong University. The school 1926 was named National Sun Yat-sen University. Today's Sun Yat-sen University was formed by the merger of Sun Yat-sen University and Sun Yat-sen Medical University in June 20001year.

2. Wuhan University

Tracing back to 1893, Governor Zhang Zhidong of Huguang invited the self-improvement school founded by the Qing government. Later, it was named National Wuhan University on 1928, which was the first batch of national universities in modern China. In 2000, Wuhan University merged with Wuhan University of Water Resources and Electric Power, Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping and Hubei Medical University to form the new Wuhan University.

The school, formerly known as Fudan College, was founded in 1905. It is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning independently established by the people in China. 1952 after the adjustment of departments, the school has become a comprehensive university focusing on basic teaching and research of arts and sciences. In 2000, Fudan University merged with Shanghai Medical University, the fourth national medical college of Sun Yat-sen University founded by 1927, to form a new Fudan University.

4. Huazhong University of Science and Technology

The school's predecessor was Huazhong Institute of Technology established in 1952, Shanghai Wende Medical College established in 1907 and Hubei Technical School established in 1898. After inheritance and development, Huazhong University of Science and Technology was merged from the former Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tongji Medical University and Wuhan Urban Construction College in 2000.

5. Nanjing University

Its academic context can be traced back to Nanjing Imperial College in 258 AD. Modern school history began with Sanjiang Normal School founded by 1902. After that, it was renamed Nanjing University on 1950 after historical periods such as Liangjiang Normal University, Nanjing Higher Normal University, National Southeast University and National Central University.
