There are five affiliated hospitals of Suzhou University: The First Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University (Suzhou Boxi Hospital) was founded in 1883, and was confirmed as the First Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University in 2000. The Second Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University, also known as the General Hospital of Nuclear Industry, was established in 1988. The Third Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University (Changzhou First People's Hospital) was founded in 19 18, located in the center of Changzhou, an ancient city in the south of the Yangtze River. The Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University (Wuxi Fourth People's Hospital) was built in 1976, a public institution. In 2008, it became a third-class first-class hospital, Suzhou University 1997. The Children's Hospital affiliated to Suzhou University, also known as Suzhou Children's Hospital, is located in the urban area of Suzhou and is affiliated to the Health Department of Jiangsu Province.
