Where is East China Normal University?
East China Normal University was founded in 195 1 10. Based on Daxia University and Guanghua University, it was transferred to some departments of Fudan University and Tongji University and was founded on the original site of Daxia University. 1972 East China Normal University and Shanghai Normal University merged and changed their names to Shanghai Normal University. During 1978, all schools resumed classes, and East China Normal University resumed its original name 1980 in July.

East China Normal University is a national key university directly under the Ministry, and one of the national "2 1 1 Project" key construction universities. There are 18 full-time colleges, 36 departments and 59 undergraduate majors, among which Chinese, history, mathematics, geography and psychology are the national bases for talent training and scientific research in the basic disciplines of arts and sciences. The school has six national key colleges, six national and ministerial key laboratories, two open laboratories of the Ministry of Education, more than 40 research institutes and a number of interdisciplinary research, experiment, calculation and testing centers. The school has established a graduate school with 9 doctoral programs in first-level disciplines, covering 18 first-level disciplines.
