Since the reform and opening up, the discipline of optical engineering has developed rapidly. With the care and support of the school and leaders at all levels, the discipline construction has made gratifying achievements. 1999 "Thin Film and Optical Testing Laboratory" was established with the approval of Shaanxi Provincial Government. In 2004, with the approval of the Shaanxi Provincial Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the National Photoelectric Achievements Transformation and Industrialization Base of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the "Technical Engineering Center for Dual-purpose Film Technology and Low-light Electronic Devices" and the "National Photoelectric Achievements Transformation and Industrialization Base" were established. A teaching and research team with good comprehensive quality, high academic level, rich practical experience and pioneering and innovative spirit has been built in the fields of "thin film and plasma technology", "micro photoelectric device manufacturing and application", "optical processing and measurement" and "shooting range photoelectric testing technology". In the past four years, more than 600 academic papers have been published in more than 0/00 journals at home and abroad, of which more than 60 papers have been included in internationally renowned retrieval systems such as SCI, EI and ISTP, and more than 20 books and teaching materials have been published. In the past three years, the accumulated scientific research funds have exceeded180,000 yuan, and a number of scientific research achievements with advanced level at home and abroad have been obtained, including many provincial and ministerial level.
