The college is located in Lu 'an City, Anhui Province, a national garden city, the new administrative region of Meishan South Road, close to the municipal government, public security bureau and TV station. The world-famous Pi River, an artificial irrigation canal, winds up from the west of the college, and Lu 'an Central Park, Binjiang Park and Water Park surround the college.

Anhui National Defense Science and Technology Vocational College was founded in 1974, formerly known as Anhui Dajiang Machinery Industry School, and 1997 was renamed as Anhui National Defense Science and Technology Industry School.

In June 2003, with the approval of the Anhui Provincial People's Government and the record of the Ministry of Education, it was independently upgraded to a public full-time ordinary higher vocational college, which is affiliated to the Anhui Provincial Department of National Defense Science, Technology and Industry. College is an excellent talent training college in Anhui Province, and it is one of the 24 colleges with independent enrollment rights in the province. It has the training base of numerical control technology of central vocational education, vocational education of national defense science and technology industry and training base of high-skilled talents of national defense science and technology industry in Anhui Province.
