Is the urology and andrology center of Peking University First Hospital the same hospital?
Peking University Institute of Urology and Peking University Hospital Urology are the birthplaces and leaders of urology in New China. It was founded in 1978 by Academician Wu Jieping, the founder of urology in China. After several generations' continuous efforts, it has developed into an internationally renowned and domestic leading urology center with two generations of academicians from Wu Jieping and Guo Yinglu, integrating medicine, teaching, research and prevention.

Urology, located in the First Hospital of Peking University, consists of clinical and basic parts. The clinical part has three wards *** 105 beds. The first ward treats stones and prostate diseases, the second ward treats urogenital tumors, and the third ward is a kidney transplant ward. There are (1) general clinics, (2) specialist clinics, (3) specialist clinics for special needs, and (4) specialist clinics for stones, tumors, prostate diseases, urodynamics, kidney transplantation, lithotripsy, lithotripsy treatment rooms, cystoscopy rooms, B-ultrasound rooms, urodynamics rooms, etc. The basic part consists of eight research rooms and reference rooms, including pathology, chemistry, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, andrology, urodynamics and kidney transplantation. More than 4,000 monthly outpatient visits, nearly 200 patients, and more than 50 operations/kloc-0. An office is an office.

There are medical researchers in urology 12 1 person, including 2 academicians, 26 senior titles, 33 intermediate titles and 6 junior titles. 7 in-service doctoral supervisors in urology; There are 5 tutors for master students.

The third clinical feature of urology is the all-round and large-scale application of minimally invasive technology. At present, 70% inpatients in urology department are treated with minimally invasive technology. For example, 99% of benign prostatic hyperplasia is treated by transurethral surgery, and more than 95% of urinary calculi are treated by endoscopic and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy. For most adrenal tumors, renal tumors, renal pelvis and ureteral tumors, laparoscopic surgery has replaced the traditional open surgery.

The fourth characteristic of urology is the close combination and interactive development of clinical and basic scientific research.

The five clinical specialties of urology tumor, calculus, prostate and urodynamics, transplantation and andrology also have their own characteristics.

The urology oncology department has the first specialized ward in China. All urogenital tumors such as adrenal gland, kidney, ureter, bladder, urethra, prostate and testis can be treated with standardized minimally invasive treatment here. Laparoscopic surgery has been carried out, including renal cyst unroofing, varicocele high ligation, adrenalectomy, nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, total nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, living donor nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, radical prostatectomy, total cystectomy, bladder diverticulum's resection and so on. Among them, the first six operations have become routine. The treatment of complicated urogenital tumor includes giant adrenal tumor, giant renal tumor, resection of tumor thrombus in vena cava of advanced renal cancer, kidney-saving operation for isolated kidney of giant renal cancer, radical prostatectomy and radioactive particle implantation for early prostate cancer, various endocrine therapies for advanced prostate cancer, and various urinary diversion operations after total cystectomy for bladder cancer, such as ileal bladder, Indiana bladder and orthotopic new bladder. Perfusion chemotherapy of bladder cancer, endocrine therapy of prostate cancer, immunotherapy of renal cancer and radiotherapy and chemotherapy of testicular tumor are also specialties of oncology.

The Institute of Urology is the birthplace of minimally invasive urology. As early as the 1970s, a number of minimally invasive operations had been carried out. In 1980s, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy and ureteroscopic lithotripsy were first popularized and applied in our hospital. In 1990s, various new technologies emerged one after another, such as flexible cystoscope and ureteroscope, laparoscopic ureterolithotomy, pneumatic ballistic lithotripsy, ultrasonic lithotripsy and laser lithotripsy, which were widely used in the treatment of ureteroscope and nephroscope. Due to the accumulation of basic and clinical research in recent 40 years, the treatment of lithiasis has many characteristics: (1) It developed early: the above-mentioned operations were the earliest in China, and most of them were reported in major domestic magazines for the first time. ⑵ There are many surgical cases: the quality of medical staff is high, the treatment methods are complete, there are many patients, and the number of surgical cases is in the leading position in the country. ⑶ Comprehensive technology: It involves all fields of minimally invasive urology, and each field has skilled experts. ⑷ Combination of theoretical research and clinic: New technology is not only applied to clinic, but also to basic theoretical research. 5. Strive to develop new technologies: constantly improve various treatment methods and develop new technologies in clinical work. For example, self-developed extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, laparoscopic ureterolithotomy knife and so on. (6) Strengthen academic exchanges of minimally invasive urology at home and abroad: well-known scholars at home and abroad often come to the Institute of Urology for academic exchanges. The professional group of Prostate and Urodynamics has accumulated thousands of cases of experience in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia by transurethral surgery, and maintained a high clinical effect. Minimally invasive surgical treatment of female stress urinary incontinence and electrical stimulation treatment of bladder dysfunction are new effective projects. The kidney transplant professional group takes the road of "high-quality kidney transplant", not asking for a large number, but asking for good quality. Through strict and standardized management, the success rate remains above 99%.

The andrology major enjoys a high reputation among domestic peers, and is good at the diagnosis and treatment of male sexual dysfunction, male infertility, male menopause, prostatitis and male sexually transmitted diseases.
