1980 With the approval of the Ministry of Education of the State Council, Tianjin Business School was established by the Refrigeration Department of Beijing Technology and Business University and Tianjin Finance and Trade School, and it is subordinate to the Ministry of Commerce.

1In August 1985, Tianjin Business School and Oklahoma State University held an MBA program, and 40 students became international students who would not go abroad.

198611June, Tianjin University of Commerce was approved by the State Council as a master's authorized unit, and the major of cryogenic engineering in refrigeration department became the first master's degree in the school;

From June 5438 to 10, 2003, Tianjin University of Commerce cooperated with Eastern Michigan University in the United States to hold a master's program in human resource management, which was the first Sino-foreign cooperative training master's program approved by the State Council Academic Degree Office in China.

In June, 2004, Tianjin Business School and Florida International University established the FIU School of Hotel and Tourism Management.

On March 6, 2007, the Ministry of Education officially approved the renaming of Tianjin University of Commerce as Tianjin University of Commerce.
