From the perspective of opening to the outside world, the Belt and Road Initiative will further consolidate and expand mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Central Asia, Southeast Asia and a wider range of developing countries and regions, which will help to form a new pattern of all-round opening to the outside world. China's opening to the outside world has gone through several stages, from special economic zones to coastal open cities, to opening up along the Yangtze River, and finally to full opening up. Restricted by geographical conditions, the opening level of the eastern coastal areas is obviously high, and the proportion of the border areas, especially the western border areas, in the total import and export trade of the country is still small. The key and difficult point of forming a new pattern of all-round opening to the outside world is in the central and western regions, and the domestic section of the "Belt and Road" covers most of the central and western regions of China. The vast central and western regions have changed from the original "inland hinterland" to the current "opening frontier", which provides an opportunity for the central and western regions to further improve the level of opening up and promote stable and healthy economic development. The important lesson of the 2008 world financial crisis is that foreign trade mainly depends on developed countries in Europe and America, and "walking on one leg" is very risky. At this stage, many developing countries have accelerated their economic development and expanded their market demand, becoming a force to be reckoned with in the world market. The concept of "One Belt, One Road" links China's huge product manufacturing capacity with the huge market demand of developing countries along the way, and the prospect of expanding trade and deepening economic cooperation is more straightforward.
