Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, the oldest comprehensive pharmaceutical university in China, has been selected as a key university in Liaoning Province, a national graduate program to build a high-level university, a national key discipline program, a 2.0 base for training top students in basic disciplines, a national base for training basic scientific research and teaching personnel, and a national base for training life science and technology personnel.

In February 200212002, the school official website showed that the school was one of the first units in China to obtain the right to award doctoral and master's degrees, and it was qualified to recruit students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, foreign students and domestic high school students. At present, there are 2 postdoctoral mobile stations (Pharmacy and Chinese Pharmacy), 2 doctoral degree authorization points in first-class disciplines, 9 doctoral degree authorization points in two disciplines/kloc-0, and 7 master degree authorization points in first-class disciplines.
