Brief Introduction of College of Chemical Engineering, Northwest University
1938 In March, the National Xi 'an Temporary University moved to Chenggu County, Shaanxi Province. In April of the same year, the National Xi 'an Temporary University was renamed the National Northwest United University. In July of the same year, the Institute of Technology of Northwest United University merged with Northeast Institute of Technology and Jiaozuo Institute of Technology to form Northwest Institute of Technology. In August of the same year, National Northwest United University was renamed as National Northwest University. 1945, after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Northwest University moved to Xi 'an and Northwest Institute of Technology moved to Xianyang. 1949, the national northwest institute of technology was renamed northwest institute of technology. 1958, Northwest Institute of Technology and Xi 'an Aviation Institute merged to form Northwestern Polytechnical University. Some teachers and students from the Chemical Engineering Department of Northwest Institute of Technology went to Beijing Petroleum Institute, while others set up Xi Anhua Institute of Technology. 1960, Xi Anhua Institute of Technology merged with the Textile Department and Water Conservancy Department of Xi Jiaotong University to form Shaanxi University of Technology. 1972, Shaanxi universities were adjusted, and the Department of Chemical Engineering of Shaanxi University of Technology was merged into Northwest University. In 2002, according to the actual needs of national economic construction and the development of chemical engineering department, the School of Chemical Engineering of Northwest University was established, which consists of chemical engineering department, process equipment and control engineering department, bioengineering department, pharmaceutical engineering department and food engineering department. With the care and support of the party and government leaders of Northwest University, the teachers and students of the Institute of Chemical Technology have worked hard in unity, developed rapidly in discipline construction, team building, teaching, scientific research and management, and achieved fruitful results. The Institute of Chemical Engineering (including the Provincial Institute of Chemical Engineering) has 93 faculty members, including 57 teachers. Professor 19 (including 8 doctoral supervisors), associate professor/senior engineer 3 1 person. The college has the right to award doctoral degrees in the first-class discipline of chemical engineering and technology and post-doctoral research stations; 7 doctoral degree authorization points in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, industrial catalysis, energy and chemical engineering and pharmaceutical engineering; 9 master's degree authorization points for chemical engineering, energy and chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, chemical technology, industrial catalysis, applied chemistry, pharmaceutical engineering, chemical process machinery and food science, and 2 master's degree authorization points for chemical engineering and pharmaceutical engineering; There are five undergraduate majors: chemical engineering and technology, process equipment and control engineering, bioengineering, pharmaceutical engineering and food science and engineering. There is an engineering research center of the Ministry of Education, two provincial engineering technology research centers, a key laboratory of Shaanxi Province and seven provincial key disciplines. It has formed a relatively complete scientific education system consisting of bachelor, master, doctor and postdoctoral students.

College construction has entered a new and faster development stage. Teachers, students and staff of the whole school unite as one, and Qi Xin works together to build an internationally renowned and domestic first-class chemical department.
