Shandong University can correspond to the undergraduate course of traditional Chinese medicine. With the reform and development of higher continuing education, Shandong University's continuing education will strive to further clarify its goal orientation, straighten out its school-running system, improve its governance mechanism, and comprehensively promote continuing education to achieve "quality development, connotation development, characteristic development and standardized development" at a new historical starting point, so as to achieve the goal and construction of "establishing a first-class continuing education that matches the construction of a world-class university and has an international perspective".

Shandong University has a long history of continuing education, and it is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning engaged in adult higher education, online higher education and non-academic continuing education. In the development of nearly 60 years, the school has always regarded continuing education as an important content of talent training and serving the society. In recent years, the school's continuing education has made unremitting structural adjustment and transformation and upgrading, actively developed academic education and vigorously developed non-academic education, and has made remarkable achievements in personnel training and social services.

There are 67 online education majors and 26 adult education majors in the school. There are 18 examiners as examiners of Shandong higher education self-study exam. At present, there are more than 60 online learning centers for adult education and 6 correspondence stations for adult education in 23 provinces (municipalities directly under the central government and autonomous regions), and a continuing education network covering the whole country has been established.
