Zhengzhou University, whose main campus is located in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Henan Province. It is a national "double-class" construction university, with "21project" and "one university in one province", and was selected as the national "20 1658".

Base 2.0 (Chemistry), a top-notch student training program for basic subjects, is a member of the Silk Road University Alliance, the Belt and Road Aerospace Innovation Alliance, the South Asia Southeast Asia University Alliance and the Sino-Russian Medical University Alliance. Medical education in Zhengzhou University originated from Sun Yat-sen University in Henan in 1928, and Henan Medical College was established independently in 1952, which opened the precedent of medical higher education in Henan.

The former Zhengzhou University, founded in 1956, is the first comprehensive university founded in New China. The 1 1 project is listed in the national "2 1996 project". Zhengzhou University of Technology, founded in 1963, is a key university directly under the former Ministry of Chemical Industry. In July 2000, the former Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou University of Technology and Henan Medical University merged to form the new Zhengzhou University.

School background

1952, following the example of the former Soviet Union, China adjusted the departments of colleges and universities nationwide, and planned to move a number of universities in coastal and eastern regions to the central and western regions, and planned to move Shandong University to Zhengzhou to form a new Henan University. For various reasons, Shandong University failed to settle in Zhengzhou, but moved back to Jinan.

Considering the present situation of higher education in Henan Province, the Ministry of Education decided in 1954 that Shandong University, Beijing Slag Stool College, Jilin University, Northeastern University and other institutions should be responsible for and provide teachers to build a new university in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, which is the beginning of Zhengzhou University.
