Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1952 was founded in xi 'an, 1959 was upgraded to Shaanxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 196 1 moved to Xianyang, the ancient capital. It is the only ordinary institution of higher learning in Shaanxi that cultivates high-quality talents of traditional Chinese medicine, and it is one of the eight institutions in China identified in Document No.56 of the Central Committee 1978. 1978 enrolled and trained postgraduate students, and 198 1 became the first batch of master degree awarding units in China.

1990 was approved by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of institutions of higher learning that can accept foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. 20 15 was renamed Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 20 19 was confirmed as an enrollment unit in Shaanxi province. 202 1 became a college of traditional Chinese medicine established by the provincial bureau. After 70 years of construction and development, Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has become a medical college with Chinese medicine as the main body, paying equal attention to both Chinese and Western medicine, and the disciplines of medicine, science, engineering, literature and management are mutually supported and integrated.

The school has two campuses, north and south. The North Campus is located in Weiyang Middle Road, Qindu District, Xianyang City, and the South Campus is located in Xixian New Area on the bank of Fenghe River, with a total area of 796,675.3 square meters. At present, there are nearly10.5 million students in all kinds of schools, including basic medical college and the first clinical medical college (including the departments of traditional Chinese medicine and clinical medicine of traditional Chinese and western medicine).

At present, there are 14 teaching units, including the Second Clinical Medical College (including the Department of Clinical Medicine), the College of Pharmacy, the College of Acupuncture and Tuina, the College of Nursing, the College of Medical Technology, the College of Public Health, the College of Humanities Management, the College of Foreign Languages, the College of International Education, the College of Continuing Education, the College of Marxism, the Ministry of Sports, and two medical and educational cooperation units and four directly affiliated colleges.
