Kunming Medical University has both the first batch of enrollment and the second batch of enrollment in Yunnan. It is generally believed that Kunming Medical University is a university, and it is the largest medical college integrating teaching, medical treatment and scientific research in Yunnan Province. Kunming Medical University is a national key construction university and a provincial key university in the "Basic Capacity Building Project of Universities in the Midwest". It has been selected into the pilot universities of "Excellent Doctoral Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, the national innovation and entrepreneurship training program for college students, the "International Medical Talents Training Base" of Yunnan Province, and the first batch of universities that recruit international students with China government scholarships. It is a founding member of the South Asia-Southeast Asia Medical Education and Health Alliance.
