The July Festival, called the July Recitation Art Festival and the National College Students' Recitation Conference, is the highest-level activity and competition in the national recitation art world.

July Festival In order to commemorate the older generation of broadcasting artists such as Mr. July and inherit and carry forward the fine tradition of the new China broadcasting industry represented by the spirit of July, broadcasting and hosting College of China Communication University established the July Recitation Art Festival on 1996, with one theme for each session.

In June 2004, during the 7th July Recitation Art Festival, the first China University Students Recitation Competition was successfully held. It marks that the most striking recitation contest of Qi Yue Recitation Art Festival is more standardized, large-scale and branded, and further becomes a national contest with high influence and extensive participation.

The purpose of this competition is to find talents in recitation among young students, promote the art of recitation and inherit Chinese language and culture. Starting from this session, the July Recitation Art Festival was renamed as the July Recitation Art Festival and the China University Students Recitation Competition, with no theme.

The development of July Festival:

For more than ten years, with the support and participation of all parties, the annual Qi Yue Recitation Art Festival has become more and more influential. It not only becomes a language grand meeting for students majoring in broadcasting and hosting art to record history, commemorate glory, show their elegance and create tomorrow, but also provides a stage for recitation lovers from all walks of life to show their elegance, communicate with each other and learn and improve.

At the recitation festival, many recitation artists actively participated in and widely supported it. Pu Cunxin, Li, Hong Yun, Lin Ru, Qu Xianhe,, Can Cao, Xu Tao and other recitation and performance artists often appear on this stage, adding luster to this stage. These recitation and performance artists are also the driving force for holding the contest.

Since 1996, the July Recitation Art Festival has been successfully held for 17 sessions, and more than 100 colleges and universities have participated in this competition. Looking back on the past, the July Recitation Art Festival has experienced 20 years of ups and downs since its inception. In the previous July Festival, many excellent works emerged.
