Wuhai Vocational and Technical College is located in Binhe New District, Haibowan District, Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is the only full-time general vocational college founded in Wuhai. On June 5, 2004, the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region approved the establishment of Wuhai College of Inner Mongolia University of Technology by document 2 16, and on February 6, 2005, it approved the establishment of Wuhai Vocational and Technical College by document [2005]28. Wuhai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attach great importance to the construction and development of the College. Since the construction began in 2004, more than 200 million yuan has been invested in the construction of the college. The college covers an area of 466,200 square meters, with a construction area of nearly 6,543,800 square meters, a green area of 53,000 square meters, sports venues such as basketball courts and football fields of 25,000 square meters, teaching auxiliary rooms of 64,000 square meters, student apartments, restaurants and other living rooms of 35,000 square meters, which are divided into teaching areas, administrative areas, experimental training areas, cultural and sports activities areas and living areas. The college has now built an experimental training building with an area of 6.5438+0.4 million square meters and a training center with an area of 500,000 square meters, 50 experimental training rooms, metalworking practice bases and motor vehicle driver training centers, with the total value of teaching instruments and equipment reaching 6.5438+0.85963 million yuan. The library has a building area of 6.5438+0.5 million square meters and a collection of 287,800 books (including 52,000 e-books). A campus network with relatively perfect functions was initially established, and the modernization of office, teaching and management was basically realized. The college has seven party and government management institutions, namely, Party and government office, discipline inspection organization propaganda department (trade union), educational administration science and technology department, teaching supervision office, student affairs department (Youth League Committee), enrollment and employment department (employment guidance center) and logistics support department. There are 9 teaching institutions, including Chemical Engineering Department, Mining Engineering Department, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department, Power Engineering Department, Architectural Engineering Department, Management Department, Basic Department, RTVU and Adult Education Center, Experimental Training Center, and Network Information Center 1 Teaching Auxiliary Institution. Now there are 27 majors in six categories: chemical engineering, coal, electromechanical, electric power, construction and management. After nearly four years of construction and development, the college has more than 3000 full-time students. The college has 0/93 faculty members, 56 teachers with associate senior titles and above, and 46 teachers with dual qualifications. There are 45 teachers with "double shoulders" and 58 teachers with master's degree or above (including studying). The College adheres to the principle of combining introduction with training, constantly improves the structure of teaching staff, vigorously trains "double-qualified" teachers, and encourages teachers to improve their academic level, professional quality and teaching level through various forms such as on-the-job degree study and further study abroad. At present, the college has obtained a number of professional qualifications such as the secondary vocational qualification appraisal station in electronics industry, the vocational skill appraisal station in chemical industry, the license of the national unified vocational qualification registration and training institution, and the English application ability (Grade B) test center in colleges and universities.
