Griffith University, founded in 197 1, is located in Nathan suburb of Brisbane, ranking 35th in Top50Under50 and tied for 329th in the world university rankings. The university originated from a project that originally planned to expand the facilities of the University of Queensland.
7. Deakin University
Deakin University, founded in 1974, ranked 3 1 among the top 50 under 50 in 20 19, and ranked 309th in the world. This is the first university established in Victoria.

The University of Wollongong is located in the coastal city of Wollongong in the south of Sydney. Founded in 1975, it is an independent university (formerly known as the New South Wales University of Science and Technology). It now has its own international campus, University of Wollongong in Dubai and Business School in Sydney.

University of Technology Sydney 1988 obtained university status (Sydney Institute of Technology was founded in 1893). Despite the name, the University of Technology Sydney actually offers a wide range of courses in addition to technology-related degrees, and its largest department is the Business School.
