South China University of Technology, formerly known as South China University of Technology, can be traced back to a class of industrial schools in Guangdong Province, and was established in 19 18. 1952 was formally established, and was transferred to Hunan University on the basis of Engineering College of Sun Yat-sen University, Technical College of South China United University, Technical College of Lingnan University and Engineering Department and specialty of Guangdong Institute of Technology.
It has formed some engineering departments and majors in five universities, including Zhonghua University in Wuchang, Wuhan Jiaotong University, Nanchang University and Guangxi University, and is one of the four major engineering schools in New China. 1960 became a national key university; 1988 was renamed South China University of Technology. The school is divided into three campuses. Wushan Campus is located in Shipai College District, Tianhe District. The University Town Campus is located in Guangzhou University Town, Panyu District.
