Flexible university
The so-called flexible academic system, in a narrow sense, refers to a school education and teaching model with certain selectivity in learning content and certain flexibility in learning years. It is carried out in stages on the basis of the credit system, which is an alternative development and performance of the credit system. The biggest characteristics of the flexible academic system are the flexibility of learning time (that is, early graduation or delayed graduation), the practicality of learning process (that is, alternating work-study programs and phased completion) and the selectivity of learning content and learning methods (that is, there are compulsory and elective subjects, and the learning methods are different from those inside and outside the school). Its ultimate goal is to build an "overpass" for all kinds of education, so as to meet people's personalized and diversified requirements for educational choices. The author believes that the flexible academic system is a vivid practice of people-oriented Scientific Outlook on Development in the field of education and an effective attempt and beneficial exploration to reform, innovate and improve China's education and teaching system. From beginning to end, it profoundly embodies the humanistic feelings and humanistic care of "people-oriented", which is conducive to the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of the educated.
